A roundtable discussion "Make Your Choice", was held on as part of the fight against drug addiction and drug trafficking on October 14, 2025, at the Temirtau City Museum.
The discussion aimed to foster a responsible attitude among adolescents toward issues of freedom, choice, and personal responsibility.
The roundtable brought together students from city schools, representatives of the police, the AIDS center, and addiction prevention specialists.
The roundtable was not a lecture, but an interactive meeting, featuring games, blitz sessions, and lively dialogue.
The main sections of the meeting included:
- "Freedom is..." blitz session
At the beginning of the meeting, participants shared associations with the word "freedom," which helped create a trusting and open atmosphere.
- "Myth Detector" Game
Teenagers tested their knowledge by discussing popular myths. Experts addressed each myth, providing facts and real-life examples, including statistics and the consequences of drug use.
- "What Would You Do?" Case Study Game
Schoolchildren discussed real-life situations in groups. Each team offered their own real-life solutions, demonstrating that everyone has a choice—to say "no" and maintain self-respect.
- Quick Survey "Law vs. Life"
Teenagers asked police officers questions, honestly and without censorship. The answers were short, to the point, and included examples from real-life situations.
- Stories and Open Mic
Specialists shared stories from their lives, and a police officer spoke about drug dealers—people involved in drug trafficking.
The roundtable discussion was part of a state program aimed at combating drug addiction and the drug trade, and demonstrated that conversations with young people can be honest, engaging, and effective.
