The Temirtau Museum opened an exhibition of pictures "The Chronicle of Saryarka" from the collections of the Regional Museum of Arts to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Karaganda Region on June 26, 2026, .
This year marked an anniversary. In 1936, Karaganda became the administrative center of the region.
This exhibition is devoted to the history of the formation and development of Kazakhstan's industrial and cultural region. It traces the region's journey from the first mining settlements and workers' quarters to the emergence of a major industrial, scientific, and spiritual center of the country. The history of the region is revealed through paintings and graphic works, conveying the various stages of the region's development and the lives of its residents.
The exhibition featured 32 paintings by renowned Karaganda artists: Seitmakhan Kalmakhanov, Mingisha Abylkasov, Aubakir Ismailov, Raimkul Esirkeev, Grigory Gilevsky, Pavel Andriyuk, and Viktor Krylov. Their works capture industrial landscapes, urban environments, everyday life, and images of the working people who shaped the character of the mining region.
