The Temirtau City Museum opened the "Viennese Chair" exhibition as part of the "Exhibit of the Month" project on January 14, 2026.

The exhibit was donated to the museum by E.N. Aksyonov in 2020.

This piece of furniture takes its name from the birthplace of bentwood furniture technology—Vienna, the capital of the Austrian Empire.

This chair is made according to the classic design of Viennese bentwood furniture: the frame consists of six main bentwood elements connected with metal screws and nuts. This disassembled system ensured lightness, strength, and stability, as well as ease of transportation, quick assembly, and repair. Thanks to these qualities, the Viennese chair has become one of the most popular and recognizable furniture models in history. The piece bears the signature mark "Johann Kohn & Radom," allowing for precise attribution and dating to the period of the Radom factory's operations. The Viennese chair remains a symbol of the rational and accessible design of its time and plays an important role in the history of furniture, becoming a model for subsequent generations of manufacturers.
