The Temirtau city Museum opened the festival of folk traditions "Tatulyk Tuy Astynda" to commemorate the Day of Kazakhstan People Unity on April 22, 2026.
For a week, the museum was transformed into a festival venue with several locations that consolidated the display and introduction of folk traditions, customs, and cultural heritage of the ethnic groups living in Temirtau.
Participating in the festival opening were:
Ethnocultural Association JSC "Qarmet";
Tatar Ethnocultural Association "Kaganat";
Chuvash Ethnocultural Association "Shanchek";
German Ethnocultural Association "Volksshimme".
The festival program included four locations:
- Kazakh Culture
Demonstration of one of the most important rites associated with the birth of a child, "Besikke Salu."
- Tatar-Bashkir Culture
Celebration and introduction to the traditions of the folk celebration of Sabantuy
- Chuvash Culture
History and secrets of Chuvash costume
- German Culture
The "Maibaum" tradition of erecting a Maypole
The festival site was open for a week.
