The educational program "Secrets of the National Wardrobe" was implementedwithin the framework of the inclusive project "Time and People", timed to coincide with the Nauryz holiday on March 18, 2025.
For our guests from the Karaganda Regional Special Library for Blind and Visually Impaired Citizens, tactile sensations became the key to history.
The guests' fingertips slid over the exquisite patterns of camisoles, felt the softness of felt shapans and the smoothness of silk embroideries. Each texture is a part of history, each stitch is a symbol of tradition. The guests were able not only to hear the legends, but also to literally feel them.
We told why the patterns on clothes are not just decoration, but a whole system of encrypted messages, what secrets are hidden in the cut of outfits and what beliefs are associated with national costumes.
This event became a step towards making art, history and traditions accessible to everyone.
