The Temirtau city Museum  held a quarterly event "Syr Sandyk", a museum-style conversation, as part of the "Dastur Men Guryp" project on January 19, 2026.

In Kazakh culture, a chest traditionally held great significance- it was used to store the most valuable things: dowries, family heirlooms, and documents. Therefore, the phrase "Syr Sandyk" carries a deep symbolic meaning, emphasizing not just a secret, but one that is carefully guarded and meaningful.

"Syr Sandyk" is not just a household item, but an educational tool aimed at shaping the history of the people, family values, and the personality of a girl.

For the event, an exhibition block was created in the "Unity of the People of Kazakhstan" hall, displaying items of the material and spiritual culture of the Kazakh people. Stage 1 of the "Kazakhstani - Traditional Kazakh Hairstyles" event.

Where the girls displayed: sholpy, shashbau, kustumsyk saqina, and syrga (decorations). All of these girls' adornments have special meaning and preserve traditions passed down from generation to generation.

During the event, the girls engaged in warm, intimate conversations. They braided their hair, shared their knowledge about various types of braiding, including braids of one, two, three, and five strands. A traditional "tulim" hairstyle was demonstrated for young children, and the forgotten "shash sipau" ritual was described. The secrets of girls' rings were revealed and the reasons for traditional ear piercing were explained. All of this clearly reflected the girls' precision, sophistication, and skill. In an atmosphere of beauty, respect for traditions and spiritual continuity, the event was held with the participation of female students from School No. 9 and Secondary School No. 10 in Temirtau city.
