The Temirtau City Museum opened the collaborative exhibition "Unique Artifacts of Saryarka," organized in partnership with the Saryarka Archaeological Institute on February 19, 2026.
The new exhibition project immersed visitors in the Bronze Age-one of the key periods in the history of Kazakhstan and all of Eurasia.
A special place in the exhibition is occupied by materials related to the Begazy-Dandybay culture of the late Bronze Age. The tribes of this culture left behind monumental mausoleums and large settlements, including the proto-urban center of Akkezen, which played an important role in the ancient trade route system. The discovery of the Karazhartas mausoleum, known as the "Kazakhstan Pyramid"- one of the largest megalithic monuments of its time-gained international renown.
Current research is focused on the Taldy River valley (Shetsky District, Karaganda Region), where over one hundred archaeological sites have been identified. Based on years of scientific research, the Taldinsky Historical and Archaeological Park was created, bringing together monuments from the Alakul, Nurin-Fyodorovo, and Begazy-Dandybay cultures. The project received support from the Department of Culture, Archives, and Documentation of the Karaganda Region and is of not only regional but also international significance.
The exhibition "Unique Artifacts of Saryarka" presents authentic archaeological finds revealing the high level of social and technological development of the ancient population of Central Kazakhstan and has become a significant event in the cultural and scientific life of the region.
