The Temirtau City Museum of History  held an academic debate event devoted to the 160th anniversary of Alikhan Bukeikhan, entitled "Азаттық таңынаңсаған алашарысы " on February 25 at 2:00 PM.

 Four teams participated in the debate, each consisting of two speakers: two teams representing the Government (the affirmative side) and two teams representing the Opposition (the negative side).

 The distribution of positions and the order of presentations were determined by a panel of judges. Judges: Abil-Sayd Magauin, a lecturer at KarIU and Deputy Dean of the Department of Energy and Transport Systems, and Zhandos Zhekeev, a member of the Saryarka Daryny debate club and a fourth-year student at the Karaganda University of Economics.

Participants in the debate were students from grades 8–11 of comprehensive schools in the city of Temirtau. First place was taken by students from the "Women's Gymnasium".
