The Temirtau city’s Museum opened the art lab "Magic Workshop" for school campers on June 2, 2026.
Young visitors were treated to a fascinating journey through three themed locations, each transformed into a true research platform. Special exhibition areas were prepared for the program, where the children could demonstrate their knowledge, ingenuity, and creativity.
Eco-Laboratory
In the eco-laboratory, children learned the basics of caring for the environment. Participants conducted educational experiments and learned how to recycle used paper by creating paper bags. A waste sorting game was particularly engaging, where the children sorted plastic, metal, and paper into different containers. The children also took part in a water conservation challenge: using a spoon, they transferred water from a bucket to a glass, trying not to spill a drop.
Crime Lab
This area gave the young investigators the opportunity to experience the role of real forensic scientists. Each participant conducted a fingerprint examination and studied the unique pattern of their own fingerprint. During the trace evidence examination, the children examined various traces-from animals, bicycles, humans, and other objects. They also tried their hand at being codebreakers, deciphering the names of museum exhibits, and then created a composite sketch of a mock criminal, demonstrating their observation skills and attention to detail.
S-Qlab Cosmic
The space laboratory introduced the participants to the amazing world of astronautics. The children had to complete an unusual task that tested their dexterity and precision: rolling a ball across a tabletop until it landed in a glass attached to the side. The children also assembled themed puzzles featuring an artificial Earth satellite, the Vostok launch vehicle, and the Space Shuttle. By completing these tasks, the participants expanded their knowledge of space exploration and the achievements of global cosmonautics.
The "Magic Workshop" art lab was not only an engaging activity for the children but also an opportunity to gain new knowledge and develop logical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills. Each participant had the opportunity to imagine themselves as an ecologist, forensic scientist, or space explorer, discovering the amazing world of science and creativity.
