The Temirtau city’s Museum hosted an educational eco-training titled "Nature Conservation and Protected Areas of Kazakhstan," aimed at fostering a caring and responsible attitude toward the environment among schoolchildren on September 16, 2026.
The event took place across two themed areas. In the "Nature of Our Region" hall, the students were introduced to local wildlife, viewed taxidermy specimens of animals and birds, and took part in an "eco-investigation" where they identified animals based on their tracks.
The second area focused on the "Protected Areas of Kazakhstan," featuring an eco-laboratory that sparked particular interest; here, students participated in educational experiments and learned about waste sorting. They practiced placing plastic, metal, and paper into the correct bins, gaining a practical understanding of the importance of mindful consumption and responsible waste management.
Equally engaging was the "Hunt" game, in which participants used a magnetic device to "capture" images of various animals and birds. However, a key rule was to remember that actual hunting is prohibited for species listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan.
Interactive tasks involving QR codes allowed participants to listen to the sounds of birds and animals and identify them by their calls.
Seventh-grade students from School No. 10 participated in the eco-training session.
